What is Eleceed? – Eleceed Webtoon Review

Of the few webtoons that have me coming back to them every week, Eleceed is most definitely top of that list.

And I am not the only one. With a sweet mix between action and comedy, the story written by Jeho Son has a whooping 9.93 in ratings!

So let’s talk about Eleceed.

Jiwoo with Mr. Kayden
  • Title: Eleceed
  • Author & Artist: Jeho Son & ZHENA
  • Overall rating:  9.5 out of 10
  • Story:  9.5 out of 10
  • Art: 10 out of 10
  • Status: Ongoing
  • Genre: Action, Comedy & Fantasy.

*Bonus extra 10 points for cuteness.

*Overall rating might change in the future depending on the future chapters. Since this webtoon is currently on-going.

The story starts with Jiwoo, a kind-hearted teenager who possesses super speed. But from a young age, he is told to hide this ability of his. Don’t worry I am not spoiling anything. This is explained in the very first episode.

As he tries to hide his ability, slowly he starts to hide himself from his peers. He fails to make friends and lives a very lonely life. He learned to keep to himself. To pass the time he starts to feeds the local stray cats. And it becomes a routine, a hobby.

So this is our MC. A kind, sweet, adorable bub, who feeds stray cats with his pocket money.

This is how Eleceed blew me away

Can he get any better?

Yes, he can.

One night Jiwoo finds an injured cat while feeding the strays. He brings him home. After that things get very, very interesting.

Together with help of few others, they will take down those who harm humanity.

Cool, isn’t it? But that is just my interpretation of the story, so far. It only has a few episodes out. So we are far from knowing anything. The original synopsis by Line Webtoon is a bit different.

Jiwoo is a kind-hearted young man who harnesses the lightning quick reflexes of a cat to secretly make the world a better place – one saved little child or foster pet at a time. Kayden is a secret agent on the run, who finds himself stuck in the body of a…um…decidedly fat old fluffy cat. Together, armed with Jiwoo’s super powers and Kayden’s uber-smarts, they’re out to fight those forces who would let evil rule this world. That is, if they can stand each other long enough to get the job done.‘ _- Source Line Webtoon.

Honestly, this description doesn’t do justice to the story. Especially the last line. You will know what I mean when you check it out. So do check it out after reading this poorly written review!

Eleceed as a webtoon is a weirdly-perfect mix of action, cuteness, and laughs. It is not just the story itself that is good but the art just brings up that level of comedy to a whole new level. And the characters are made that way too. They are kids, so we get that goofiness but as they are young adults who want to do right, we get that want of righteousness too.

I can’t actually add any more it as it will be considered a spoiler, so I won’t…..sigh

The story is written by Jeho Son, who is famous for writing Noblesse. And the artist behind this masterpiece is ZHENA who previously worked on Girls of the Wild’s.

The story is a great combination of action with comedy – I probably have said this 3 more times before, but it is true – which I think is one of the biggest charms of Jeho Son’s writing. As I read more of his works, it becomes clear that he loves to pair action with comedy and a little drama. And it works really well.

Someone gets punched, readers in the comment, ‘Aww the baby did his first punch’. Probably the most whipped comment section I have ever seen.

With the upcoming arc, we can’t wait for more amazing characters to be introduced and for their growth.

Let me show you one of my favorite panels from Eleceed. See how good the art is!

So pretty

I will say that one of the best parts of Eleceed is the expressions. And they are so great that you can not but laugh. The artist does such an amazing job with them! Little things throughout the panels make the characters more real. And more hilarious.

As I said, the expressions are priceless.

Right now Eleceed has about 60+ chapters available in the Line Webtoon app for us to read and it gets updated every Tuesday.

So if you are a fan of action or comedy or cats in general then this webtoon is perfect for you. So please do check it out.

Keep reading and stay safe. Until next time, happy reading!
